A man admitted to police he was drinking after they arrested him for showing his handgun to a stranger at a south side restaurant Monday night, officials said.
A 55-year-old Madison man fled the Burger King at 719 West Badger Road around 7:25 p.m. and called police after Willis R. Parson, 30, pulled a handgun from his waistband, according to a release.
The man told police Parson walked up to him and asked him what he wanted before presenting the handgun, officials said.
Parsons was unsteady on his feet and admitted to drinking, police said. His blood alcohol content tested at .129 percent during the booking process.
Parson was arrested on charges of endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon.
