Dorothy (Hatton) Rapp

Dorothy P. Hatton Rapp, age 99, of Janesville, and formerly of Youngstown, OH, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family and the caring staff at St. Elizabeth Nursing Home. She was born on April 28, 1913, in Youngstown, OH. She was adopted by Lavosier and Gertrude Kinder as an infant. Dorothy attended Kent State University in Kent, OH. Dorothy's positive outlook and perpetual smile was cherished and loved by all who knew her. She lived her faith and was a gifted musician. She played the piano for everyone at St. Elizabeth's almost daily.

Dorothy is survived by her 3 sons: David (Gail) L. Hatton of Janesville, Dale (Riana) L. Hatton of Palm Harbor, FL, and Darrell E. Hatton of Austintown, OH; 15 grandchildren: Jeralyn, John David, Christina, Stephen, Erika, Nathan, Derek, Stephanie, Alicia, Summer, Lindsey, Cortney, Levi, Lucas and Olivia; 20 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; her birth brother, Frank Machin of Scottsdale, AZ; several nieces and nephews and a special niece, Carol (Butch) Hartwig of Tempe, AZ. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husbands: Paul Lundquist, Levi S. Hatton and Norman Rapp; daughter, Judith A. (John) Bossone, sister, Janet (Paul) Smith; brother, Myron (Nellie) Kinder and sister, Ruth (Mike) Shull.

A Celebration of Life will be held at ST. ELIZABETH NURSING HOME CHAPEL, Janesville at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2013, on her 100th birthday. Dorothy's final resting place will be in Grove Cemetery, Footville, WI.
