Crystal L. Burgess-Banfield

Crystal L. Burgess-Banfield, 44, of Platteville, died on Monday July 1, 2013 at home, with her family by her side, after a long battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Rev. Eric Erickson will officiate. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Mineral Point. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 8, 2013 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, or from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the Crystal L. Banfield Memorial Fund.

Crystal was born on March 30, 1969 in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, the daughter of Francis and Donna (Nelson) Burgess. Crystal enjoyed cross stich, crochet, knitting, riding motorcycles, and playing pool. She was the secretary and treasurer of the Platteville Pool League. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and special friend.

She is survived by her three sons, Brandon Loken of Platteville; Dylan (Ashley Adams) Banfield of Platteville; Dalton Banfield of Platteville; and their father, Steven Banfield; grandchildren, Avayah Loken and Landon Banfield; parents, Francis and Donna Burgess of Mineral Point; two sisters; Emily (Jerry) Moon of Platteville; April (Buddy Simons) Giesen of Platteville; father-in-law, Denny Banfield; brothers and sisters-in-law; Roxanne Burgess of Lancaster; Denny (Paula) Banfield Jr.; Tina Banfield; Holly (Ted Ogden) Banfield; Mark (Shelly) Banfield; Tracy (Dan Hentrich) Banfield; Ryan (Darcy Kastner) Banfield; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Albert and Mary Lois Burgess; Amos and Bessie Nelson; brother, Corey Burgess; mother-in-law, JoAnn Banfield; nieces, Tilah Page and Destiny Burgess; and cousin, Jody Jackson.
