Dane County officials held a news conference after an injury crash involving a highway truck on Interstate 90 Thursday morning, which followed another crash involving a county highway truck on Wednesday.
The westbound lanes of Interstate 90 about two miles south of the Beltline were closed after a crash reported at 9:05 a.m. Both lanes remained closed for more than an hour when traffic was allowed to use the right lane. The incident was cleared after noon.
Officials told News 3 the crash involved two vehicles and a Dane County highway truck. Officials said a car struck the back of the highway truck pinning the car's driver who was extricated and taken to a hospital.
The highway worker was outside the vehicle and working in the shoulder at the time of the crash and was uninjured.
There were construction zone cones on the road in the area of the crash.
Jerry Mandli with the Dane County Highway Department said a county highway truck with a directional sign on it was struck on the Beltline at Todd Drive on Wednesday. A county worker had minor injuries and was not on the job on Thursday.
County officials were expected to talk about the state's move over law and construction zone safety during the news conference.
