Christine A. Henes

COTTAGE GROVE-Christine A. Henes, age 62, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

She was born on March 7, 1952, in Niles, Mich., the daughter of Donald G. Holmes & Nancy L. (Robinson) Holmes. Christine married Kenneth E. Henes on Dec. 22, 1973, in Buchanan, Mich. She earned her Bachelor’s in Sacred Music from Lincoln Christian University, Bachelor’s in Music Therapy from Michigan State University and her Master’s in Theology from Notre Dame University. Christine owned & operated Sonshine Music Center, LLC providing Music Therapy & Piano Instruction. She served many churches through music, enjoyed many hobbies & was rich in her faith in Christ. She was a light to those that knew her.

Christine is survived by her beloved husband, Kenneth; daughter, Nancy (Dave) Moore; mother, Nancy L. Holmes; sister, Susan (Harry) Williams; brother, Donald A. (Lorilee) Holmes; siblings-in-law, Karen Oxendine, Connie (Doug) Baird and Thomas (Angie) Henes; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald G. Holmes.

Funeral services will be held at WESTWOOD CHRISTIAN CHURCH, 5210 Odana Rd., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, with Robert Robinson, pastor and cousin presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, as well as from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday.
