Cardinals stop Brewers again, 6-1

Matt Holliday and Carlos Beltran homered and Shelby Miller pitched six strong innings as the St. Louis Cardinals won their second straight against the Milwaukee Brewers, 6-1 Friday night at Miller Park.

Holliday hit a long two-run homer to straightaway center field off Brewers starter Kyle Lohse in the third inning to give the Cardinals a 2-0 lead.

Jon Jay made it 4-0 with a two-run single in the top of the fifth.

After Jonathan Lucroy drove in the Brewers' first run with a sacrifice fly in the sixth, Beltran hit his third homer of the season to get the run right back.

Holliday drove in his third run of the game with a single in the seventh.

Aramis Ramirez returned to the Brewers lineup at third base and had two hits.

Lohse (1-3) took the loss. Shelby Miller (4-2) allowed just one run on seven hits to earn the victory.
