PARDEEVILLE, Wis. -

Authorities said most parties walked away uninjured from an early morning car-versus-buggy accident.

Sgt. Tracy Morrical with the Columbia County Sheriff's Department said a report of an accident on Highway 22 came in at 8:53 a.m. Thursday.

Morrical said the Amish buggy was carrying two adults and three children when the accident happened north of Pardeeville.

A child was bleeding from a minor mouth injury and taken to the hospital, Morrical said.

The occupants of the buggy are identified as the driver, Joni Miller, 38, and passenger Norma Miller, 39, and three children ages five, four and 10-months-old, according to the release.

The adult female and three children were ejected from the buggy, and the adult male was partially ejected during the crash, according to the release.

The two adults and two of the three children were transported to Divine Savior Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the release. The third child was released from the scene without injuries.

Officials said the horse was seriously injured and was euthanized by Lodi Equine Veterinary Clinic staff after the crash.

The driver of the Dodge Caravan, Dennis Thom, 62, of rural Pardeeville, was not injured, according to a release.

The car was towed from the scene and the buggy remained at the accident site as of 11:30 a.m. awaiting removal, Morrical said.

The Pardeeville Fire Department, Pardeeville EMS assisted the sheriff's department in the incident.
