Brewers winning streak ends at nine

Lance Lynn pitched seven shutout innings and Jonny Peralta and John Jay hit homers as the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 4-0 at Miller Park Monday night, ending the Brewers nine-game winning streak.
Lynn (3-0) allowed just three hits over his seven innings and Carlos Martinez finished up with two scoreless, hitless innings for the Cardinals.
Peralta hit a second inning home run off Brewers starting pitcher Matt Garza (0-2) to give St. Louis a 1-0 lead.
It stayed that way until the top of the sixth when Jay hit a three-run homer to right field to give the Cardinals a 4-0 lead.
Garza went seven innings allowing nine hits and four runs. He struck out six St. Louis batters.
The Brewers fell to 10-3 as they suffered their first loss since April 2nd.
