The Milwaukee Brewers added right-handed reliever Rob Wooten for the start of their series against the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday, leaving them short-handed in the outfield.

Utility player Elian Herrera was optioned to Triple-A Nashville. He batted .222 in nine games, including four starts in right field and one in left.

Outfielder Ryan Braun has missed the past four games with a strained oblique in his right side.

The Brewers are hoping he won't have to go on the disabled list.

Wooten was with the Brewers from April 13-20. He went 0-1 with an 8.31 ERA in four appearances before he was sent back to Nashville.
