Published On: Jul 10 2014 09:00:45 PM CDT

The Milwaukee Brewers have called up top pitching prospect Jimmy Nelson from Triple-A Nashville.

Nelson will start for the Brewers Saturday at Miller Park against the St. Louis Cardinals taking the place of Marco Estrada in the rotation. Estrada will pitch out of the bullpen.

The Brewers also placed left handed pitcher Wei-Chung Wang on the 15-day disabled list with left shoulder tightness.

Nelson has had a spectacular season at Nashville with a 10-2 record and a 1.46 ERA in 16 starts. He's struck out 114 batters in 111 innings.

Nelson was also named a Pacific Coast League All-Star earlier this month.

He made a spot start with the Brewers May 25th and got the win against the Florida Marlins.
