STOUGHTON -

The 2013-14 WIAA boys basketball season began in Wisconsin Tuesday night.

It's the first step toward the state tournament which will return to the Kohl Center March 13-15, 2014.

In one of the opening night games, McFarland traveled to Stoughton.

Stoughton made it to state last year and the Vikings hope to do the same this season.

The Vikings took a 17-5 lead at halftime, only to have the Spartans battle back and force overtime.

Stoughton held on to win 48-45 in OT.

Nick McGlynn led the Vikings with 19 points and PJ Rosowski added 15.
