Boscobel plans fundraiser to assist with flood cleanup

BOSCOBEL, Wis. -

About one month after heavy rains resulted in the flooding of hundreds of homes in Grant County, residents are still cleaning up and repairing the damage that was left behind.

Boscobel, one of the hardest hit areas, was toured by Governor Scott Walker shortly thereafter.

And more recently, FEMA officials were in the area to assess damage to calculate possible federal aid to local governments.

Until those figures are in, the community is preparing to gather for a fundraiser to help anyone in the area who needs financial assistance.

“There's a lot of people affected by this,” said Tom Richter of the Boscobel Chamber of Commerce. “And we want to try and get money into as many people's hands as we humanly, possibly can.”

On Saturday, July 27, a run/walk in planned for the morning, followed by an all-day fundraiser at the Boscobel Bowl and Banquet.

All are welcome to help support those in need.
