MADISON, Wis. -

Senator Tammy Baldwin, D-Wisconsin, plans to fight for more jobs in Wisconsin with her first piece of legislation since getting elected in November.

It’s called the Small Business Innovation Act, and it’s designed to help start-ups attract much needed funds through venture capital.

“This is so important for the jobs picture in Wisconsin,” Baldwin said. “Small businesses create two-thirds of the private-sector jobs out there and if we’re behind in entrepreneurship, we’re lagging behind in jobs.”

Baldwin met with representatives from bio-tech company Isomark. The company is pioneering technology that can help patients avoid infections after surgeries.
