Badgers pull away late to defeat Platteville

MADISON -

The Wisconsin Badger men's basketball team outscored Platteville 43-21 in the second half to pull away for an 80-51 win in an exhibition game at the Kohl Center Wednesday night.

Ben Brust scored 20 points while Sam Dekker added 13 to lead the Badgers. Jim Stocki had 14 and Stoughton's Eric Gerber scored 11 for Platteville.

The Pioneers stayed close with the Badgers, trailing only 37-30 at halftime.

But the Badgers finally put together a scoring run as they turned a 48-40 lead into a 78-51 advantage in the final minutes.

Wisconsin outrebounded Platteville 40-21.

The Badgers open their regular season November 8th when they travel to Sioux Falls, South Dakota to face St. John's
