UNIVERSITY PARK -

Badgers softball started the year so-so, but they've hit their stride the last couple weeks. With their 4-0 and 5-2 wins at Penn State Saturday, UW improved their winning streak to 10 straight.

Game number one was all about Taylor Paige-Stewart. She pitched a complete game shutout, striking out seven batters.

In the fourth inning a wild pitch from Penn State brought home Marissa Mersch and gave the Badgers a 1-0 lead.

In the sixth inning, a Stephanie Peace grounder brought Mersch home again to make it 2-0. Moments later, Chloe Miller hit a two-run homer to make it 4-0. That was enough as the Badgers won game one 4-0 and took game two 5-2.

Up next, the Badgers host Purdue at Goodman Diamond on Friday.
