MADISON -

The Wisconsin Badger football team opened spring practice Wednesday afternoon at the McClain Center on the UW Campus.

Head Coach Gary Andersen began his second spring in charge as the process begins to fill holes left by a large graduated senior class that featured players like Chris Borland, Jared Abbrederis and James White.

Among the position battles to watch this spring is at quarterback. Joel Stave is the incumbent, but no less than five other players will be competing for a spot on the depth chart at quarterback.

The Badgers will practice twice this week, three times next week, then take an extended spring break from March 15-23 before returning for eight more practices after that.

The final practice is the Spring Game Saturday, April 12th at 3 pm at Camp Randall Stadium.
