Badger Women win in Nashville

NASHVILLE -

After a week without games, the Badgers beat Mercer in the opening game of the Vanderbilt Thanksgiving Tournament Friday. Wisconsin plays Vanderbilt in the tournament championship on Saturday. 

The Badgers led wire-to-wire and were led by Taylor Wurtz, who scored 20 of her 24 points in the first 20 minutes of play. Michala Johnson added 21 for the Badgers, while Jackie Gulzcynski pitched in with 13. 

Wisconsin will take the court against host Vanderbilt on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. in the championship game of the tournament.
