Badger women lose to Nebraska in OT, 71-70

MADISON -

The Wisconsin Badger women's basketball team took 22nd ranked Nebraska to overtime before the Cornhuskers came away with a 71-70 win at the Kohl Center Wednesday night.

Wisconsin had a 26-21 halftime lead, but Nebraska battled and forced overtime on Jordan Hooper's basket with :36 left in regulation.

In the overtime, Hooper and Tear'a Laudermill hit consecutive three point shots to give Nebraska a 68-64 lead.

But Taylor Wurtz tied the game again at 70 on a layup with 1:22 left.

Emily Cady made one of two free throws with 1:02 left to give Nebraska what proved to be the winning point.

Wisconsin had the final possession, but had a turnover with two seconds left.

Wisconsin is now 10-12 overall and 3-7 in the Big Ten. Nebraska improves to 16-5 overall and 6-3 in the Big Ten
