Badger volleyball stuns #7 Minnesota

MADISON, Wis. -

The Wisconsin Badger women's volleyball team knocked off a top-10 opponent for the second time this week as they rallied to defeat seventh-ranked Minnesota in four sets Wednesday at the UW Fieldhouse.

Minnesota won the first set, 25-18, but then Wisconsin swept the next three sets, 25-21, 25-20, 25-20.

Deme Morales led the way with 15 kills while Ellen Chapman had 14 for the Badgers. Lauren Carlini had 45 assists.

Wisconsin is now 17-4 overall and 6-3 in the Big Ten. Minnesota is 18-4 overall and also 6-3 in the Big Ten.

With Michigan State's loss to Michigan Wednesday, the Badgers and Gophers are both tied for third place in the Big Ten standings behind Penn State (7-1) and Nebraska (6-2).

Wisconsin's next match is Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the UW Fieldhouse against Illinois.
