Agnes Jacobson

JANESVILLE--- Agnes M. Jacobson, age 85, of Janesville, died Friday, May 24, 2013, at her home. She was born in Osage, IA, on Feb. 5, 1928, the daughter of Peter and Bertha May (McDowell) Spoken. Agnes married Verne R. "Shorty" Jacobson on Sept. 11, 1948, in Dubuque, IA. He preceded her in death on May 19, 1987. She was a member of First Congregational UCC, a former member of the Women of the Moose, and had worked in daycare and the floral business.

She is survived by her 3 sons: Ron (Karen) Jacobson of Black Earth, Ken Jacobson in Abu Dhabi, and Gary (Malinda) Jacobson of Edgerton; 7 grandchildren: Lindsey, Chelsea, Nicole, and Spencer Jacobson, Mara Brink, D'Mitri (Rachelle) Peters, and Damian Peters; a great grandson, Cael Peters; 6 siblings: Robert (Sheri) Spoden, Frank (Sonja) Spoden, and Catherine Serleth all of Janesville, Frances Sheridan of Johnstown, Beverly (Gene) Bobolz of Avalon, and Genevieve (Phil) Long of Middleburg Heights, OH; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and 4 siblings: Mary Chapin, Dorothy Christiansen, Edward and William Spoden.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at the CHAPEL of MILTON LAWNS MEMORIAL PARK, Janesville. Rev. Dr. Wes Bixby will preside. Burial will follow. SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY is assisting the family.
