MADISON, Wis. -

The percentage of high school students in Wisconsin who graduated has increased again, although minorities continue to lag behind.

The state Department of Public Instruction on Tuesday released the latest graduation data for 2012. It showed that 87.5 percent of students graduated in four years. That is up from 87 percent the year before and 85.7 percent in the 2009 school year.

However, minority groups were not performing as well.

The graduation rate for African American students was 62.7 percent last school year, down from 63.8 percent in 2010. It is up from 60.5 percent in 2009.

The rate for Hispanic students is 74.3 percent and 88.4 percent for Asians. The rate for white students is 92.2 percent.
