Wis. Conservation Congress gears up for hearings
The Wisconsin Conservation Congress is gearing up for another round of annual spring hearings next month.
The congress is a group of influential sportsmen who advise the state Department of Natural Resources on policy. Every April the congress holds hearings in all 72 counties to give people a chance to vote on suggested changes to DNR regulations.
This year's hearings are scheduled for April 8.
The congress will pose questions about changing sturgeon spearing hours; allowing motor trolling statewide; allowing the use of rifles for deer hunting statewide; and allowing overnight placement of stands and blinds and DNR-owned and managed land.
