MADISON- William Joseph Stagmer, age 68, of DeForest, passed away on Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, peacefully at his home. He was born on Nov. 16, 1944, in Towson, Md., the son of Joseph Elmer and Marion Louise Stagmer. William was a successful retail executive and civic leader, serving on the Middleton Planning Commission and founder of the Elver Park Fireworks. Bill was also a devoted church volunteer and lector, passionate boater, and loving son, brother, and father.

He is survived by his daughters, Catherine Stagmer of Menomonee Falls and Jenni (Casey) Poole of Fitchburg; sister, Louise (Bob) Kraus of Kona, Hawaii; brother, Charles (Debe) Stagmer of Freeland, Md.; and many other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Memorial Mass will be held at SAINT OLAF CATHOLIC CHURCH, 623 Jefferson St., De Forest, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, with Father Robert Butz presiding. May he know he was always loved and be at peace in heaven.
