While donating blood is a very generous and safe thing to do, there are certain precautions donors should take following a donation.

 

Because you are losing some of your own blood, you need to keep hydrated throughout the day. Drink more water than you normally would.

 

Try to take it easy for the rest of the day. Avoid any heavy lifting or strenuous exercise.
