Middleton Fire Company hosts 98th Annual Festival, July 21
The Middleton Fire Company’s Annual Festival and Raffle, featuring live bands, food and fun festivities, will take place on Saturday, July 21st starting at noon at the Capital Brewery in Middleton. The local fundraiser will raise money to support activities focused on educating adults and children in the community.
Fundraising through this annual festival has allowed the Company to completely refurbish Middleton’s original fire engine, the 1923 Ford Model T Pumper, which is showcased in the fire station and will be at the event. In addition, this fundraiser enables scholarships for Middleton High School students, pays for specialized training courses and provides funding for new tools and equipment such as extrication equipment and AED’s (Automated External Defibrillator). The Middleton Fire Department has an Insurance Services Office (ISO) rating of three, ranking the Company in the top four percent of fire departments in the country.
Saturday’s festivities feature a special family time from noon to 3:00 pm, at which time children ten years and under eat free from the kid’s menu when accompanied by an adult. Games and water events for kids are also included, so swimsuits and towels are recommended. Live music kicks off at 12:00 pm with Middleton Jazz Band, playing all your Jazz favorites. From 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, local band Primitive Culture will play their blend of funk, blues and tropical rhythm music. Finally, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, The Jimmies will be performing! They’ve just been named the “2012 Best Swing/Big Band Ensemble” by the Wisconsin Area Music Industry.
