Winning numbers for the Nov. 28, 2012, Powerball drawing were chosen in Arizona and Missouri. At the time, the $587.5 million prize was the largest in Powerball history.

According to the Wisconsin Lottery, no one has claimed a $1 million winning Powerball ticket yet, but the ticket holder has 180 days to cash in.

The state lottery, run by the Department of Revenue, said it could be as long as six months before it’s known who holds the $1 million winning Powerball ticket from Wednesday’s $587.5 million Powerball drawing.

Speedway at 9130 W. Oklahoma Ave. in West Allis sold the ticket. According to the organization, the ticket must be brought to lottery headquarters in Madison.

In addition to the $1 million winner, Wisconsin players won 10 other notable prizes Wednesday night. A $40,000 Power Play ticket was sold in Montello; $10,000-winning tickets were sold in Appleton, Cross Plains, Fond du Lac, Grand Marsh, Kenosha, Janesville, Marinette, Milwaukee and Superior.

Any prize that is unclaimed is added to the funds the lottery returns to the state to help offset property taxes, according to the organization.

The Powerball jackpot will return to $40 million for the Saturday drawing, the lottery stated in a news release.
