VERONA -

Zach Jones and Harry Seid both scored two goals as Verona's boys hockey team defeated Madison West 5-1 Tuesday night at Eagle's Nest Arena in Verona.

Seid scored twice in the first period to get the Wildcats off to a good start.

In the second period, Liam Schmitt started the scoring, then Jones added an even strength goal, and a 5 on 3 power play tally to make it 5-nothing.

Quinn Paskus scored the only goal of the night for the Regents early in the third period.

West goaltender Henry Cutting made 52 saves, while Verona's Alex Jones made 17 stops for the Wildcats.

Verona advances to the sectional championship game Saturday night at 6 pm against Madison Edgewood at Hartmeyer Ice Arena.

Edgewood defeated Middleton 3-2 in overtime in the other sectional semifinal at Madison Ice Arena Tuesday night.
