Tips for using your hot tub in winter

Published On: Feb 07 2013 12:46:20 PM CST

When the temperature falls it can be relaxing to sit in a steaming hot tub. Make sure you use these tips if using an outdoor hot tub during the winter months.

Make sure your controls are set correctly. Make sure you set the heat and temperature settings high enough to avoid having the pipes freeze in the cold temps.

Keep your hot tub at a consistent temperature. It will cost you more on your energy bill to heat up a cold hot tub than to keep it at a consistent temp, so try to keep the water constant.

Even though it’s cold out, you still need to clean and refill your hot tub. Try to pick days where the temperate isn’t too bitterly cold for your own comfort.

Consider using a cover on your hot tub that will help keep the heat inside of the tub. This will help keep your water warm and at a constant temperature.
