JANESVILLE, Wis. -

A Janesville teenager was hospitalized and faces numerous charges after fleeing a police officer and crashing his truck into a house, according to Janesville police.

An officer said he noticed Jonathan Jimenez, 17, driving a truck in the area of West Milwaukee Street and South Locust Street at 12:32 a.m. Thursday, and he knew Jimenez had a suspended driver's license. When the officer tried to pull the truck over, Jimenez tried to elude the officer and sped through a red light at West Milwaukee Street and South Academy Street, according to police.

The officer said he lost sight of the truck and didn't pursue it, but he continued south on Academy Street and found the truck had struck a house in the 600 block of Rockport Road.

Jimenez was injured and taken into custody as he tried to flee the scene of the crash, according to police. Two other passengers were injured and a fourth fled. Jimenez and the two passengers were taken to Mercy Hospital. The two passengers were treated and released. Police said Jimenez remains in the hospital for treatment.

The people in the house at the time of the crash were uninjured, but the house sustained significant structural damage. City code officials inspected the structure.

Police said Jimenez smelled of intoxicants, and a breath test confirmed he had been drinking. Police are waiting for the results of a blood sample.

Jimenez was arrested on suspicion of two counts each of operating while intoxicated causing injury, recklessly endangering safety, reckless driving causing injury and one count each of operating after suspension, a red light violation and underage drinking.
