Some Madison students will make up time for snow days

MADISON, Wis. -

Madison schools closed two days because of snow this winter, prompting the district to change some students' schedules.

District officials said elementary school students will attend a full day of school on the final day of the year instead of having early release. The last day of school is June 13.

Students at La Follette High School have had four extra minutes added to each school day since March 11, and 25 minutes will be added to the last day of school on June 13.

The middle schools and other high schools will not have any changes to their schedule.

The changes were made to make sure the district meets state standards for the number of days and hours of instruction during the school year. The number of required hours varies at different grade levels.
