MADISON, Wis. -

New campaign finance reports show state schools Superintendent Tony Evers has raised nearly six times as much cash as challenger Don Pridemore over the last month and a half.

Evers and Pridemore will square off in the April 2 election. They both filed finance reports detailing their fundraising and spending from Feb. 5 through March 18 with the state Government Accountability Board on Monday.

Evers reported collecting $129,264. Pridemore managed $21,822. The incumbent superintendent spent $186,695, more than three times the $53,903 Pridemore spent.

Pridemore, a Republican state representative from Hartford, had only $1,348 on hand as of March 18. Evers had $42,849.
