Plastic surgery procedures increased last year

In 2012, 14.6 cosmetic plastic surgery procedures were performed in the U.S, which was up 5 percent from 2011, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Most of these procedures were minimally invasive. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, more than 13 million minimally invasive procedures were performed. The most popular procedure was Botulinum toxin type A.

About 1.6 million cosmetic surgical procedures were performed in 2012, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. The most popular surgical procedure was breast augmentation.
