Patricia E. Tyler

Patricia E. Tyler Age 79 of Monroe, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at her home. Patricia was born March 14, 1933 in DeKalb, IL, the daughter of Elmer and Iola (Barker) Rowe. She graduated from Rochelle, IL High School in 1951 and married Walter S. Tyler on June 15, 1952 in Rochelle. Pat and Walter lived in Rochelle before moving to their farm in Jordan Township in 1967. Pat farmed along with her husband and was employed at Oaktron Industries for ten years before retiring. She and Walter were active members of Pheasant Forever and were former members of the Monroe Moose Lodge and Argyle Rod and Gun Club.

She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl (David) Widmer of Argyle, and Terry Meyer of Monroe; eight grandchildren, Damon (Ashley) Widmer of Argyle, Dawn (Rick) Hanenberger of Monticello, Dustin (Brandi) Widmer of Monroe, Darci (Justton) Plaskey of Harmony Grove, WI, Steven Meyer (Kristin) of Monticello, Tyler Meyer(Deanne) of Blanchardville, Cody Meyer(Brittany) of Hollandale, and Samantha Meyer of Monroe; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Rodney (Ruth) Rowe of Addison, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter, on August 13, 2000; a grandson, Spencer Meyer; and a brother, Jim Rowe.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2012, at 10:30 a.m., at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, with Pastor Margo Peterson officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. A luncheon will be held at the Monroe American Legion Post #84 followed by burial in White Rock Cemetery, Ogle County, IL at 2:30 p.m. A memorial fund will be established in Pat’s name.
