Patricia Ann Smith

MADISON-Patricia Ann Smith was born Aug. 27, 1941 in Pittsburgh, Pa. and died Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, in Madison. She was a graduate of Seton Hill Colllege, Greensburg, Pa. and she earned her BSN at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio and her MSN at UW Madison. Pat was a respected nurse educator and taught many years at Madison College (MATC). She had an eclectic taste in reading, enjoyed her travels to Europe, Africa, Central and South America and had a deep appreciation for nature.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, John Sullivan and Ann O’Connor Smith; and Grandma O’Connor; and a long line of best dogs.

She is survived by her loving sisters Kathleen Smith of Monona and Rita Marie Smith of Puyallup, Wash.; favorite brother-in-law, Rolf-Immo Gabbe; and Bailey, a shepherd mix best dog.

The family acknowledges with gratitude the service provided by the Agrace Hospice Care team, the women of Interim, and special caregivers Gana, Ogi and Becky, whose compassionate care allowed Pat to remain in her home.
