MONONA, Wis. -

Saturday night was a big night for Badger Conference girls basketball, with first place on the line in both Badger North and South divisions.

In the south, the top ranked team in Division II is the Monona Grove Silver Eagles, who hosted Stoughton. Both teams had been perfect in conference play.

The game was close early but Monona Grove pulled away in the second half to win 57-34.

In the north, unbeaten Baraboo hosted Waunakee. The Waunakee Warriors' only conference loss so far this season was to Thunderbirds.

Baraboo jumped out early and survived a late Warriors rally to win 58-55.
