Milton parents voice concerns over school bus service

MILTON, Wis. -

Parents in the Milton School District voiced concerns about long bus rides for their children at a school board meeting Monday night.

The parents said they're fed up with their children's bus service.

The Lamsons said their kindergartener, Samuel, has an hour and fifteen minute-long bus ride. They say one day last month, he got on the wrong bus after a 15-minute bus transfer layover and didn't show up at home.

"I want to know that, when I send my child off to school and to ride the bus, that he's going to be safe. I was lucky. My son came home that night. Next time, what if it's not a happy ending?" said Jaime Lamson, a concerned parent.

The bus service in Milton is provided by Riteway.

The school board will continue to consider the issue and bus transfer procedures.
