MADISON-Maurice P. Gahlman, age 72, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2013. He was born on Nov. 12, 1940, the son of Maurice A. and Armella (Weisner) Gahlman. He attended UW-Madison and expanded his musical talents as he played in many bands. He was united in marriage to Suzanne Schaefer on Oct. 14, 1961, in Slinger. Maurice was known to be a “tinkerer”, always coming up with new ideas. He had an entrepreneurial spirit and passed a strong work ethic on to his family. Maurice took pride in his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Maurice is survived by his daughters, Linda (Bob) Christofferson of Stoughton, Stacy Gahlman (Scott Schroeder), and Christa Kongslie, both of Madison; six grandchildren, Joshua Kraut, Kathryn and Lukas Christofferson, and Kendra, Kylie, and Ryan Kongslie; great-grandson, Xavier Kraut; and sister, Shirley Gahlman. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Suzanne.

A Memorial Service for Maurice will be held at FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH, 310 E. Washington, Stoughton, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2013. Inurnment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
