MADISON-Mark F. Lange, age 57, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, after a courageous battle against cancer. He was born on Dec. 26, 1954, the son of Duane and Jane (Weeks) Lange. Mark was a graduate of Madison East High School. Following high school, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1972 until 1976. While in the Navy Mark became a certified Scuba diving instructor. He worked for over 30 years for the City of Madison before retiring as a Programmer/ Analyst. Mark loved his dogs, enjoyed hunting and time spent on his farm in Richland County. He would spend hours on his computer and had an interest in Astronomy. He was always learning something new by reading and researching the web. Mark was also enthusiastic about saili6ng, and had always wanted to spend more time sailing all the different lakes.

Mark is survived by his sisters, Christine Kempfer of Sun Prairie, and Michael Ann (Barry) Mundt of Port Washington; brother, Michael (Shelia) Lange of Janesville; special friend, Elaine Stevens of Madison; nieces and nephews, Kevin (Jenna) Onley, Patrick Kempfer (Laura Kim), Adam, Myriah, Lydiah and Noah Mundt and Mandy, Dustin (Lara) and Shannon Lange; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Trinity, Griffin, Aubrey, Valerie and Alianah. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his dogs, Charlie, Whiskey, C.D., Keaton and Tori.

Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at Noon, on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.Gunderson_Funeral

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Mark’s name to the Dane County Humane Society. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Legacy Gardens and Agrace HospiceCare.
