Marion Chicks

BELLEVILLE -

Marion Chicks, age 82, of Belleville, passed away unexpectedly from complications of cancer on Thursday, Apr. 18, 2013, at UW Hospital.

She was born on Feb. 22, 1931, in Darlington, the daughter of Peter and Grace (Hillary) Rupp.

Marion spent her earlier years growing up in Dayton, WI. She served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant in a variety of functions spending time at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, D.C. during the Korean War.

She started out working at J&M Bar in Belleville.

During her career, she also worked in the medical office of Dr. Michael Gordon and she later worked at University Affiliated Physicians from where she retired.

Marion loved her Packers, UW sports, her grandchildren, and her special relationship with her nieces and nephews. Marion always put everyone first before herself. Her life revolved around her family.

Marion is survived by her children, Vicki (John) Reagan of San Diego, Calif; Andy of Lakeville, Minn.; Craig (Lori) of Reedsburg; Darren (Deb) of Paoli; and Kristy (Dan Dibbs) Higbee of Greenville; grandchildren, Haley Reagan; James Chicks; Kiya (Mitchell) Lewis; Alex Chicks; Amanda and Mitchell Chicks; and Hillary and Jacob Higbee; sister, Helen (Bill) Clark; brother, Peter Rupp; and sister, Carol (Jerry) Slotten. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Gordon Larson; and sister-in-law, Janice Rupp.

A Celebration of Marion’s Life will be held at ST. JAMES EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 427 S. Main St., Verona, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Apr. 29, 2013, with Pastor Kurt Billings and Pastor Peter Narum presiding.

Memorials may be directed to the Belleville Public Library or Dayton Community Park.
