Marilyn A. (Mary) Holding

MADISON – Marilyn A. (Mary) Holding, age 77, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family after a long struggle with MS, on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013. She was born on Oct. 22, 1935, in Green Bay, the daughter of Roy and Irma (Miller) Wilson. Marilyn was united in marriage to Donald Holding on Oct. 3, 1957. She enjoyed working at Marquette Middle School as a teacher’s aide. She also owned her own ceramic studio, Holiday Ceramics. Mary enjoyed reading, going out to restaurants and day trips to casinos and “The Dogs”. She also had a love for birds. She was a lifelong member of Lakeview Moravian Church.

Mary is survived by her husband, Don of 55 years; daughters, Susan (Gary Holmes) Holding and Penny (Randy) Aguilera; grandsons, Noah and Carter Aguilera; a granddaughter, Stephanie Osborne; and caretaker and special friend, Xenia Caracas. She is further survived by nieces and nephews. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, with the Rev. Stacie Marrese-Wheeler presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, and also from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
