Marie A. Bennett

Marie A. Bennett, age 84 of Dodgeville, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Bloomfield Manor, following a long illness. The former Marie Rossing was born on November 1, 1928 in Clyde Township to John and Alma (Peterson) Rossing. Marie married William R. Bennett on December 14, 1946. William preceded her in death on July 26, 1976. Marie worked for over 25 years at Carnes Corporation in Verona. She enjoyed reading, trips to the dog track, playing bingo and wearing a hat for every occasion. Her greatest joy was time spent with her children and grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Debra Bennett and Cindie Butteris; a son-in-law, Joseph Crook; a sister, Ione Shea and four brothers, George, Robert, Clifford and Francis Rossing.

Marie is survived by a son, William (Linda) Bennett of Arlington; two daughters, Connie (Terry) Mindham of Boscobel and Sharon Crook of Spring Green; a son-in-law, William Butteris of Gotham; 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; a special friend, Roger Knebel of Edmund as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Grace Lutheran Church in Dodgeville. Pastor Steven R. Kottke will officiate with burial in East Side Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday after 10 AM.
