Margaret "Peg" Elizabeth Mathews

Margaret “Peg” Elizabeth Mathews, died peacefully in her sleep early Saturday morning, the 24th of November, 2012. Late into her 99th year, she was lucid and lively, playing cards, commenting on current events, and supporting her favorite team, the Milwaukee Brewers. She was born on March 28th, 1913, in Watertown, Wisconsin and raised by her grandparents, Elizabeth and William Wurtzler. She was a graduate of the Madison Beauty Academy.

Her husband, Vincent Mathews, preceded her in death. She will be greatly missed by her niece, Beverly Syvrud; nephew, David Kubly; stepson, Steven Mathews; stepdaughter, Barbara Miller; grand-nephews, Knute and Erik Syvrud, Wally and Kelly Wurtzler; grand-nieces, Karen Strickland, Liv Violette, Rita Brandby; and her special friends, Mary and Jerry Anderson, William Nelson, and John and Amy Anderson.

Funeral services will be held on December 8, 2012, at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY OF CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield Street, Monona, Wisconsin, with Visitation at 10:30 a.m. and the Service at 11:00 a.m.Gunderson_Funeral
