MADISON, Wis. -

A Ridgeway man is sentenced to two years in prison and 20 years of supervised release in a federal child pornography case.

Ralph Bennett, 56, admitted to the FBI he had used a computer to view child pornography, according to prosecutors. He pleaded guilty Sept. 26 to possession of sexually explicit images of minors.

Investigators said a search warrant executed at Bennett’s home Oct. 4, 2011, uncovered computers containing more than 16,000 images of child pornography and 75 videos of children being sexually abused.

The sentence is less than federal sentencing guidelines. Judge William Conley based the sentence, in part, on the sexual abuse Bennett suffered when he was younger.
