MADISON, Wis. -

The field for the Madison Marathon 26.2 mile race on May 27 has been filled.

Runners still interested in registering for the full marathon can still add their names to a wait list at www.madisonmarathon.com.

Organizers capped the field for the full marathon at 1,750 and those spots were filled at noon April 11 -- the earliest date the full marathon has been sold out.

Race Director Keith Peterson said a mild winter has helped runners train more extensively for spring events like the Madison Marathon.

Spots are still open for runners to register for the 10K run on Saturday evening, May 26, and the half marathon which will be run the morning of May 27.
