Lorian A. "Lo" Wirsbinski

MADISON-Lorian A. “Lo” Wirsbinski, age 86, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013. She was born on Feb. 4, 1927, the daughter of Arnold and Effie (Wesenburg) Day. She married Raymond Wirsbinski on June 25, 1948. Lo was a teacher’s aide at Hawthorne Elementary School. She also volunteered at Meriter Methodist for estate sales and blood drives. Lo loved to shop and enjoyed estate sales, craft sales, and needlepoint on canvas. She was also an avid reader, collector and history buff,especially on the American Civil War. She was a member of book clubs and bible study at Bashford Methodist Church. Most of all, Lo loved spending time with her grandchildren and loved them unconditionally. Lo was also a lifelong member of Lutheran Memorial Church.

She is survived by her children, James (Lynne) Wirsbinski and Gary (Elaine) Wirsbinski; four grandchildren, Loren (Audrey) Wirsbinski, Christine (Clint) Acker, Sara Wirsbinski, and Danielle Wirsbinski; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Dalton Watters, and Chloe Acker; sister-in-law, Bertha Day;two brothers-in-law, Ron Hetzler and Ted Femrite; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Richard and William; and sisters, Betty and Suzanne.

Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, with Pastor Franklin Wilson presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park following the service. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Monday. Memorials may be made to the UW Foundation in the name of Raymond Wirsbinski.

Cemetery:
Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park following the service.
