Linda Lea Skaaland

Waunakee Linda Lea (Pieper) Skaaland, age 52, passed into the arms of the Lord on Friday, February 22, 2013. She was born in Madison on December 6, 1960 to August H. and Beverley A. (Porter) Pieper. She graduated from East High School and went on to graduate from UW Madison. She began her career in Social Work in California, then moved back to Wisconsin to work and met the love of her life, Barry Skaaland. They were wed in September, 1988 and became faithful and active members of Chapel Valley Community Church. In addition to her church, Linda was passionate about cooking and made many memorable gourmet meals for her husband and son, Samuel, who arrived on the scene in 1994.

For Linda, it was all about her faith, her family and her friends. She led an exemplary life and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

Linda is survived by her husband, Barry and son ,Samuel at home; her parents, Beverley and August Pieper; three sisters, Lori (John) Bloom, Kristi McShane, Kathy (Phil) Bellomo; her mother and father-in-law, Denise and Robert Skaaland; brothers and sisters-in-law, Steven (Paula) Skaaland, Mark (Ann) Skaaland, Laurie (Terr y) Clark, Pamela (Todd) Jambois; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 5001 N. Sherman Avenue, with Reverend Tim Genin officiating.

Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 2 p.m. until the time of service. A meal and time of fellowship will follow at the church.
