LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) -

An appeals court has rejected a Minnesota man's challenge to his life sentence for a fatal club shooting in downtown La Crosse.

Michael Alexander argued the trial transcript was flawed, that his attorney was ineffective and that a judge had violated his rights by allowing his lawyer to introduce two witness statements.

A La Crosse County Circuit Court judge denied Alexander's motion for a new sentence. The La Crosse Tribune says an appeals court affirmed that ruling Thursday. The 30-year-old Winona, Minn. man was convicted of fatally shooting Therrick Roberts and injuring two other men outside the Club Millenium in 2003.
