MADISON, Wis. -

The UW Badgers women's basketball team got career nights out of Nicole Bauman and Jacki Gulczynski to beat in-state rival Marquette 71-68 Tuesday night.

The Badgers jumped out big early. Bauman, who is seeing a lot of playing time with Taylor Wertz out, hit a long three to put UW up 21-6.

Marquette closed the gap late, but Gulczynski hits a three to help the Badgers secure the victory.

Morgan Paige led the Badgers with 19 points, while Bauman scored 16 and Gulczynski scored 14.

The win gives the Badgers a 5-3 record so far this year. The women's team plays next Monday against Florida Atlantic at the Kohl Center.
