FOND DU LAC, Wis. -

A Fond du Lac County jury has convicted a man of fatally shooting his wife.

Jason Anderson, 36, was found guilty of first-degree intentional homicide in the November 2011 death of 33-year-old Nicole Anderson. Her husband was arrested at a motel in Birmingham, Ala., a few days after her death.

The defense contended the shooting was an accident.

WLUK-TV reported a sentencing date has not yet been set. Life in prison is mandatory with the judge deciding if and when he could be eligible for parole.
