Joanne L. Judd

Joanne L. Judd , age 84 of Brodhead, formerly of Juda, died Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at the Collinwood Care Home in Brodhead surrounded by her family. Joanne was born February 28, 1928 in Oak Harbor, Ohio, the daughter of Charles E. and Harriett (Bredbeck) Fought. She was confirmed at St. Paul’s Church and graduated from Oak Harbor High School. She married Harold L. Judd on April 16, 1961 in New Mexico. Harold was a traveling salesman and the Judds lived throughout the Midwest before settling in Juda in 1970. Joanne was a member of the Juda Zion United Methodist Church and former member of the Juda Baptist Church. She enjoyed bowling and traveling throughout the United States. She loved spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by four children, Ramona Judd of Medina, Ohio, Thomas (Laura) Judd of San Diego, CA, Richard Judd, and Mary (Ron) Swaag, all of Juda; five grandchildren, Vanessa Schaefer, Ashton Schaefer, McKenzie Swaag, Stephen Clay, and Kristen Swaag; a sister, Shirley Missig of Oak Harbor, OH; and a sister-in-law, Rachael Wirth of Janesville. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold, on Sept. 21, 1972; and a brother, Charles G. Fought.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 10, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, with Rev. Vicki Brantmeyer of the Juda Zion United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Juda, followed by a luncheon at the Juda Zion Church. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
